Giving is worship

The state of Church is something we cannot deny, regarding circulating interpretation of biblical writings about giving, tithing, offering and most of all the reward of stewardship.

Yet too many have employed self, using biblical teachings to back up their agendas.

The truth remains the Bible was right when it speaks about “their belly becoming their gods.” “(For as I have often told you before and now declare even with tears:   Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.  Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. Their minds are set on earthly things.  But our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,….”  Phil. 3:18-20. (NIV)   Our generation is seeing biblical prophecies come to pass than any generation that has existed.

Though we are much closer to the time of Christ Jesus on earth, when High priest Caiaphas  (Matt 26:3, 57; Luke 3:2; John 11:49; 18:13, 14, 24, 28; Acts 4:6) was by appointment as recorded in the Gospels “And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year.” (John 18:13 KJV).  Josephus the historian noted that “Joseph also called Caiaphas” was made high priest by the Procurator Valerius Gratus (18 A.D.) and was removed by the Procurator Vitellius (36 A.D.). His successor was “Jonathan the son of Ananus,”(Annas of the NT) (Antiq. XVIII. ii. 2; iv.3)  His appointment was unbiblical because the Romans took control of both governance and temple appointment for Judea.   Most leaders in our time have refused to be reproved by worshipers when they err and do not meet the biblical requirements for pastors.  The language is only God has the final say; But they want those that gather as the Church to obey them in all they say to the Church.  Have they not rejected the encouragement of Paul about the New Covenant of no more sacrifices for our sins, for Christ have paid it all?   Yet they err in words when they say, your giving is what shows your believe in Christ or faith in action.

Even Caiaphas in his irregularities as priest prophesied about the death of CHRIST.  And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.” Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad. Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death.” John 11:47-54

So do not engage in the argument regarding the anointing being displayed or prayers answered. God can use an Ass to speak to our life if it is in God’s will for us.

Christ Jesus as noted in the narratives drove money changers and sellers away from the court that was meant for Gentile worshipers.  As such that section of the temple was flooded with the idea of buying and selling of offering livestock with pure intention of sacrificing to God.  “everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 14:16).

A good reminder of such was the Ethiopian Eunuch who went often to Jerusalem to worship.  Ironically, he must have offered to the high priest as usual for his sin, yet when he met with Philip on the Gaza road, Philip led him to Christ Jesus, but did not request for an offering to the true God, rather the convert saw more wonders for Philip was taken away by the Holy Spirit.   In our days complimentary card will re requested, offering will be asked for, tithing envelop will be given, and he will be reminded of the obedient seed of a son and follower of brother Philip’s ministry.  Read Acts 8.  Notice the man was the treasurer of the Land Queen,  a big fish right?
